Founded in 2002, the UFE is an international university following a bilateral agreement between by the Egyptian and French governments. UFE brings a consortium of French universities that offer French undergraduate and graduate degree programs in science & engineering, management, social sciences, and applied languages. UFE degrees are recognized in Europe and accredited in Egypt.

Among our partners: Université Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University, Nantes University, and several others. UFE offers instruction, in English, provided in an Arabic-speaking environment, and promotes cultural exchanges. The academic programs are delivered by French partner universities. The curriculum and teaching are the same as in France.

The UFE campus is located in Shourouk, near the center of Cairo, New Cairo and the New Capital. It is currently being expanded to accommodate initially 3,000 students by 2030, and eventually 7,000, according to the best world standards.
